Custody Evaluations

When separating or divorcing parents are unable to agree on decisions about parenting time, children’s educational and medical needs, and relocation, Courts sometimes become involved with the family and seek a Custody Evaluation. Ms. Campesta can provide an objective set of detailed recommendations to serve the Best Interests of the Children.

Once a Court Order is received, Ms. Campesta begins the evaluation process. She interviews the parents, children, and household members. Ms. Campesta observes the children with each parent to gain insight into the established relationships and potential changes due to current circumstances. Occasionally, it is necessary to obtain alcohol, drug, or other substance abuse screening and testing as well as psychological evaluations to complete the process. A review of relevant documents and interviews with significant others who play a key role in the lives of family members are completed before a Child Custody Evaluation Report is written and submitted to the Court and the parties’ legal representatives.
