Domestic Mediation

Domestic Mediation occurs between parties who have a personal relationship. It is a dispute resolution process wherein a professional mediator works as a neutral third party to assist the disputing parties in resolving issues such as custody, visitation, parenting styles, and property division.

During mediation, the issues are discussed in detail and a mutual agreement is negotiated. A Memorandum of Understanding is developed to reflect that mutual agreement and may be presented to each party’s attorney for review.

Mediation is cost effective because mediation fees are shared by each party and resolution through mediation generally takes fewer hours than resolution through litigation. Through mediation, parties gain a better understanding of each other’s needs and expectations which can greatly reduce future conflicts.

Through Domestic Mediation provided by Ms. Campesta, many families have resolved their disputes without returning to Court, saving money, time, and stress.
